LDA Vice-Chairman Prathamesh Kumar said here on Tuesday that Mukhtar Ansari had built a building by illegally occupying the land in Dalibagh which was demolished in 2020.

The land on which this building was built was in the names of Mukhtar’s sons.

After the land was freed in 2020, the LDA built 72 flats in about two years time under the Pradhan Mantri Yojana.

Mukhtar Ansari had built a luxurious house in the name of his family members by grabbing the property of the people who had gone to Pakistan. These properties belonged to the government and were identified as “Enemy Property”. The total area of the land is 2327.54 square feet and the LDA has built G Plus three-storey houses. The average cost of a flat is Rs 4.50 lakh.

Sources say Mukhtar Ansari had earlier built a house without a map in Dalibagh in the name of Farhat Ansari. Later, the LDA got a map passed on the basis of fake papers in 2007. But after the BJP came to power in 2017, the illegal process was detected.
